Get to know me

My name is Janna and I identify as a Witch (or Häxa rather, as I’m Swedish). I see that as such a wonderfully inclusive archetype, and a crew that I would love to be a part of. I follow a solitary path and my favourite thing to do is to read all the big books and go on an adventure with all the big thoughts. I’m pursuing a degree in computer programming while simultaneously studying geology just for the heck of it.

As you can probably tell, I have a lot of air in my birth chart.

I come from an atheist background but are more of an agnostic myself. The only thing I know for sure is that all paths, religions and faiths holds rays of truths. And I love studying them, to find similarities and overlapping ideas. In my heart of hearts I believe that all roads eventually leads to the same place. Science, religion and all in between. We are all trying to describe the same thing and answer the same questions.

My witchy journey started twenty years ago, when I as a baby witch picked out my very first tarot deck. This I still my only deck, the one I still use. For me, the journey of a witch is one of remembering who you are.

My witchcraft is impatient, unable to contain itself in slow simmering concoctions or neatly organized rows of jars. It’s creativity driven and quite messy, yet there is a certain stillness to it, a space that I enter as I meditated my way through the pages of my Book of Shadows. 

My magick is routed in the fairy tales of northern Europe and the folks songs of the region I was born in. I believe that time is cyclical, in Jungs theories of the collective unconscious and santa claus. 

I connect most deeply with the element of water and is a total moon gazer. 

And my magick is routed in my mother’s fierce feminism and the rise of the divine feminine.
